The Sapphic flag was designed by lesbeux-moved on August 14, 2015 and uploaded to Tumblr.

It features two pink stripes at the top and bottom symbolising love, and in the centre is a violet – a historical symbol of Sapphic love. The original design featured the violet in somewhat more detail, but was simplified into the present in June, 2017 by Tumblr user pride-color-schemes, to make the flag more easy to replicate.
