Gynesexual is a sexual orientation to describe an individual who is primarily attracted – sexually, romantically and/or emotionally – to femininity, feminine expression and/or women, regardless of gender identity or whether they were assigned female at birth, and without reference to one’s own gender identity: as such gynesexual people may not be heterosexual or homosexual; for example, an gynesexual person may be nonbinary, or attracted to those who are on the “feminine spectrum”, regardless of gender and sex.
Gynesexuality is often used as in the andro-gyne attraction scale, as an alternative to the Kinsey Scale, where attraction to femininity is on one end, attraction to masculinity on the other, and bisexuality inbetween. Gynesexuality is also sometimes included in the bisexual+ umbrella.
The -romantic equivalent is gyneromantic.
Alternative: gynephilic.
